On Wednesday the 8th of October’ 03, Nejat opened its Car Service Centre which has a dual purpose. This is what the invitation send to NGO’s Government, International Organisation and Community Leaders said:
“Nejat has through the support of DOH-International and the European Commission, developed the Car Service Centre with the aim to provide practical training and employment to individuals at high risk of drug use.
The aim of this activity is to provide skill training, employment and a much-needed service to car owners in Kabul.
The Car Service Centre is an important part of Nejat’s overall treatment and prevention program. It is Nejat conception that individuals can only move away from drug use and addiction if there are real alternatives open to them.
Nejat is looking very much forward to your participation in this opening ceremony and would also like to extend an invitation to all participants to make use of the Car Service Centre and its facilities in the future.”
The workshop is
the first of its kind in Kabul and it is hoped that it will animate
others to copy the same approach. Everyone present appeared to enjoy
the opening of the workshop especially clients from Nejat centre who
“cut the ribbon” and performed a national dance with the
participation of guests both Afghans and Foreigners. It was truly a
happy occasion. Qasim Zamani, the director of Nejat said in his short
speech that the workshop did not belong to Nejat rather to the Afghan
people in their effort to rebuild their lives and country.
